2008 Tall Ships News updated 22nd July

GMC will participate in the first leg of the Tall Ships Race, from Liverpool to Måløy. 

The parade of sail left uneventfully, elegantly 'topped and tailed' by Glaciere and GMC.  Unfortunately, Purple Finder is on the blink, so we can't track the boat from the website, but they're definitely on their way!

The weekend was spent provisioning and welcoming the Salford trainees on board.  Every last toilet roll and head of garlic  is now stowed and the crew are itching to get going.  Many thanks to all the volunteers (and co-opted visitors) who helped with the many chores over the weekend. It was lovely to see so many 'friends of GMC' - including a number of people who helped to build her and who have contributed to maintaining her over the years.
